The humble bathroom exhaust fan is a critical home appliance that will improve the air quality of your bathroom and even your entire home. Sometimes I come across old homes that don’t have exhaust fans, and I always recommend to my clients to install one (and make sure they are aware of it missing). Bathroom fans aren’t meant to just be turned on during a shower, but they are also supposed to be on for 20-30 minutes afterwards.
Exhaust fans will quickly remove moisture from the bathroom, protecting your walls, vanity, paint, and door hardware (rust). Bath fans will also help prevent mold growth in the bathroom, especially at the tub corners where most people don’t pay attention.
